Overview

The Frontend/UI Developer II plays an active functional role delivering web interfaces for our ecommerce and content platforms. You should have an intermediate or better knowledge, understanding, and experience with the current frontend tools and technology trends, including single page apps and the use of design systems.  You should love semantic markup, appreciate Design and UX, and be comfortable writing HTML, CSS and JavaScript code from scratch. 

 

Our web platform is evolving and we want you to be an active participant in executing and maintaining a fully overhauled software stack for our ecommerce and related content sites. Effective use of cutting-edge technology is a priority for our business and this team is empowered to make bold moves in the interest of our brand and our customers.

 

In this role  your responsibilities will range from simple functional updates to assisting with the strategic definition of progressive coding standards.

  •  Vue.js frontend communicating with microservices via REST API
  •  Unified design system
  •  Custom-built ecommerce platform running in GCP Kubernetes clusters
  •  Microservices built with Node.js (typescript + js), MongoDB and Redis
  •  Asynchronous RabbitMQ event bus
  •  Service based architecture designed to adapt as cloud technology evolves

Responsibilities

  • Develop new user-facing features
  • Build reusable code and libraries
  • Ensure the technical consistency of UI/UX designs
  • Optimize single page application for maximum speed and scalability
  • Work as a part of an Agile team of product owners, business and QA Analysts
  • Build UI Prototypes

Qualifications

  • 5+ Years experience with frontend development
  • Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML, CSS / SASS, JavaScript, AJAX. VueJS and single page app experience preferred.
  • Familiar with front-end build tools, such as Gulp/Webpack
  • The ability to develop front-end applications, solve cross browser rendering issues, knowledge of user interaction principles and website design and usability.
  • Experience navigating Sketch/Abstract and translating designs for the web.
  • Experience in performance optimization using tools
  • Comfortable in a command line environment and version control systems such as Git or Bitbucket
