The Backend Web Developer II analyzes, designs, creates and enhances medium to large Ecommerce and mobile app solutions according to requirements and specifications. Works as a member of Agile team to develop new features and support existing systems.


  • Reports to the Manager of Web Development and may be supervised by senior team members.
  • Develops and maintains technical solutions for Magento ecommerce websites.
  • Requires minimal supervision and works independently on large projects.
  • Proactively analyzes and evaluates systems to improve performance and usability.
  • Evaluates business systems and works to improve the application solutions.
  • Communicates and works directly with business units on projects as needed.
  • Leads by example by completing  programming tasks on time and within prescribed standards.
  • Contributes to the team effort as needed through coding, configuration, documentation, and hands-on support.
  • Performs code reviews.
  • Meets programming standards by following production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying work process improvements; implementing new technology.


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field (or significant and relevant work experience) required.
  • 3+ years developing web sites and back-end integrations.
  • 2+ years ecommerce development using Magento or similar platform; Magento Enterprise is a plus.
  • Experience in cross-platform development using PHP, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, Ajax, NodeJS, Typescript or other JS frameworks.
  • Fullstack experience a plus.
  • Zend Framework experience a plus.
  • Microservices architecture experience a plus.
  • Experience with version control systems (Bitbucket or Git).
  • Understanding of object-oriented design principles.
  • Experience in problem solving and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to be self-managed.
