  • Overview

    Rogue Fitness is looking for a Front-end Developer to drive user experience innovations for roguefitness.com. This role will part of the Ecommerce team and will report to the UX Manager. We are a small dynamic team and your responsibilities will range from simple content updates to the development of new user-facing features and components on the Rogue websites.

    Responsibilities

    • Contribute to various sized web-based projects, ensuring robust and lasting solutions are implemented.
    • Help maintain existing JavaScript and CSS libraries: making sure they support the engineering and user experience needs of roguefitness.com.
    • Work closely with UX/UI designers, Front-end Developers, Backend Web Developers and Ecom Merchandisers.

    What you bring:

    • 3+ years of client-side development, preferably in an retail ecommerce environment.
    • Experience integrating HTML-based content with other 3rd party environments (i.e. Content Management Systems).
    • Demonstrated knowledge of building reusable code and libraries for future use.
    • Strong understanding of infrastructure and scalability.
    • Experience maintaining development infrastructure, ensuring uptime, and optimizing site performance.
    • Familiarity with the basic principles of SEO.

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years professional experience in software development * Established competency with web ‘front end’ technologies (e.g. HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JSON).
    • Comfortable with a command line environment, source version control software and package managers (Git, NPM, Webpack, Gulp).
    • Proficient in Vanilla JS in the context of workflows and requirements.
    • Proficient with JS libraries, but doesn't need to rely on them to accomplish innovative interactions.
    • Experience with frameworks like Vue, React or Angular.
    • Well-versed in the fundamentals of Responsive Mobile First visual interactive design, with the ability to create solutions using web standards/semantic markup.
    • Experience with CSS3 and Sass (ability to write mixins, partials, use source maps, etc).
    • Possess and understanding of all major browsers and the special considerations required for all various quirks with ability to solve cross browser and device rendering issues.
    • Understanding of the interplay between JavaScript and HTML & CSS, with a focus on performance.
    • Experience navigating prototypes built in Sketch and Invision.
    • Experience in performance optimization using tools such as Lighthouse or PageSpeed.
    • Experience working with Agile development methodologies a plus.
    • Experience with Magento a plus.
    • Experience with A/B testing platforms (Adobe Test & Target, Google Optimize) a plus.
