Overview

The Junior UI Designer will support the UX/UI design team by ensuring visual brand consistency across all channels. He or she will be efficient while delivering accurate designs for business-driven results. The Junior UI Designer will collaborate with the UX/UI design, engineering and product management teams in the execution and delivery of successful ecommerce products and services using a customer-focused, iterative design process.

 

This individual will be an integral part of maintaining the consistency of the brand across all channels and will deliver customer-facing design solutions that are aligned with established patterns while having the confidence to bring new ideas to the table.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular competitor analyses and site audits, finding opportunities for the Rogue customer experience.
  • Remain up to date on Rogue’s brand channels and suggest visual improvements or opportunities to enhance the customer experience
  • Create and maintain style documentation including but not limited to: shared style libraries, icon sets, creation of new graphics.
  • Communicate ongoing progress and status on work assignments in Basecamp, JIRA, and Asana
  • Ensure all versions of project documents are complete, current, and stored/archived appropriately
  • Support the usability testing team by creating visuals for testing, while assessing results of tests and searching for future testing opportunities
  • Work under the guidance of the UX/UI Design Lead to produce consistent and effective visual solutions across all channels
  • Meet all project requirements with a high standard of detail-oriented design execution

Qualifications

  • Extremely interested in connecting the dots between business needs, innovation and good design
  • Obsessed with good user-centered design practices
  • Passionate about understanding current and emerging UX/UI trends with the ability to keep the Design team informed on shifts in the industry
  • Able to ask questions, give feedback, explain design decisions and take criticism constructively
  • Organized and able to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities
  • Results and deadline driven – and comfortable being held accountable to it
  • Impeccable visual skills with an eye for detail – and the ability to explain why those things matter
  • Experience with software and apps like, Sketch, Adobe CC, InVision and other design and prototyping tools
  • Familiarity with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS design capabilities and constraints
  • Familiarity with responsive design, mobile UI/UX and designing for iOS and Android platforms
  • Resourceful and passionate about problem-solving
  • 1-3 years of UI design experience in a retail-related environment as a visual designer of a UI/UX team through the product development cycle of successfully launched web, mobile, and/or software applications
  • Motion design experience (a plus!)
