The Database Administrator maintains the integrity, security, and performance of the company databases with a focus on day to day operations.
Provides low level support for production SQL Server related issues 24 x 7 x 365.
Maintains quality service by enforcing SQL Server related installation, configuration and coding standards.
Installs and upgrades database instances and related tools.
Uses database monitoring and alerting systems.
Performs and monitors backup and recovery of database information.
Monitors database operation and performs code changes to optimize performance.
Implements database structure enhancements to accommodate new features.
Works with developers to review and tune database code, including SSIS packages and SSRS reports, for optimal performance and maintainability.
Mentor developers in best patterns and practices for SQL and TSQL development.
Develops database code, SSIS packages, and Job Agent jobs as necessary to support the development efforts of the team.
Deploys SSIS packages, Job Agent jobs, and changes to database objects to test and production environments.
Creates and executes ad-hoc queries and data imports to respond to business requests.
Maintains documentation of database server configurations.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field (or equivalent work experience) required.
1+ years experience in the following areas:
Database Administrator for SQL Server 2008 and newer, including installation, monitoring, maintenance, database security and backup management, and performance tuning.
SQL and TSQL development experience using SQL Server 2008 and newer, including stored procedures and triggers.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
